Sun Cheong vs Xin Tung

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Beijing University Gymnasium, Beijing,  taking place on 03/01/2026:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the China Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Sun Cheong (8 - 12(3) - 1) who hails from Quanzhou, China and Xin Tung(12 - 8(2)) from Changsha, China.  Cheong weighed in at 168 pounds, while Tung weighed in at 167 pounds and 3 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Jun Qi, and the three ringside judges are Dewei Hsieh, Huang-fu Yue and HuiK'o Chow.  

Round 1: 

Tung pivots to the left of his opponent.  Cheong throws a left hook, but Tung clinches his opponent.  Tung is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Tung's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Cheong switches the action to the outside and connects with a cross.
