Santiago Tano vs Cruz Calero

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Ecuador-Guayas promoted show at Jax Bolivar Gym, Guayaquil,  taking place on 18/12/2025:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Ecuador-Guayas Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Santiago Tano (6 - 5 - 2) who hails from Guayaquil, Ecuador and Cruz Calero(10(1) - 1) from Guayaquil, Ecuador.  Both Tano and Calero weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Quico Gaytan, and the three ringside judges are Joaquin Olmos, Cipriano Carrera and Zacarias Urdiales.  

Round 1: 

Calero steps inside and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Calero pivots from in front of his opponent and digs in a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Calero lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Calero closes the distance and manouvers Tano onto the ropes.  Calero lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.

Calero forces Tano to back into the corner.  Calero lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Calero advances into close range.  Calero sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook.

Calero hits home with a left hook.  
Calero forces Tano to back into the ropes.  Tano attempts to land a left hook, but Calero sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.

Tano throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Calero gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Calero advances into close range.  Calero voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Tano tries to tag Calero on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!

Calero steps inside.  Tano quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a right uppercut.  
Calero lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Calero holds on to his opponent.  Calero is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. As they grapple, Calero pushes his forearm into Tano's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Calero to stop fouling.
