Vico Maffeo vs Dante Cerbone

Boxing Daily Report from the Sikatana Promotions promoted show at Palermo De Rossi, Palermo,  taking place on 22/12/2025:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Italy-Sicily Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Vico Maffeo (4 - 8 - 3) who hails from Catania, Italy and Dante Cerbone(12 - 7 - 2) from Catania, Italy.  Both Maffeo and Cerbone weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Luca Catanoso, and the three ringside judges are Cristiano Borrelli, Cristiano Donadoni and Vicenzo Strano.  

Round 1: 

Cerbone steps inside and digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Maffeo circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Cerbone connects with a left hook.  
Maffeo forces Cerbone to retreat onto the ropes.  Maffeo tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Maffeo steps to the outside.  Maffeo sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Cerbone lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Maffeo closes the distance.  Maffeo throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Cerbone time to recover.  
Maffeo throws a right uppercut, but Cerbone ties up his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Maffeo closes the distance.  Cerbone lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  Maffeo wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Cerbone dabs at his face checking for damage.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Maffeo's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.
