Ichiro Maruyama vs Nori Kubo

Boxing Daily Report from the Pearlnew Promotions promoted show at Ochiai Park Gymnasium, Kasugai,  taking place on 05/01/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Aichi Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Ichiro Maruyama (13(1) - 0) who hails from Nagoya, Japan and Nori Kubo(3 - 13 - 3) from Toyota, Japan.  Both Maruyama and Kubo weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hideki Kawasaki, and the three ringside judges are Aoi Imada, Mikio Yasuda and Raiden Okazaki.  

Round 1: 

Maruyama is looking to keep his distance and strikes his opponents body with a jab.
