Xiaoping Zao vs Lee Choy

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Beijing University Gymnasium, Beijing,  taking place on 03/01/2026:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the China-Beijing Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Xiaoping Zao (4 - 6 - 4) who hails from Beijing, China and Lee Choy(8 - 1 - 2) from Beijing, China.  Zao weighed in at 126 pounds, while Choy weighed in at 125 pounds and 4 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Jun Qi, and the three ringside judges are Dewei Hsieh, Huang-fu Yue and HuiK'o Chow.  

Round 1: 

Zao steps away from his opponent.  Zao quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with an overhand left.  
Choy sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a cross.  
Choy throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.
