Hikaru Kida vs Goro Takaki

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Japan-Tokyo promoted show at Naoki Maita Gym, Tokyo,  taking place on 23/12/2025:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Japan-Tokyo Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Sky-A Sports, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Hikaru Kida (14 - 2) who hails from Fuchu, Japan and Goro Takaki(8 - 3 - 4) from Tokyo, Japan.  Both Kida and Takaki weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ryo Shiroma, and the three ringside judges are Takeo Kibe, Satoshi Fuse and Keiichi Iida.  

Round 1: 

Kida lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Kida tries to land a right hook, but Takaki blocks the shot and counters with a solid right uppercut.
