Douglas Powell vs Fanuco Padua

Boxing Daily Report from the Big Bang Promotions promoted show at Centro De Esportes, Recife,  taking place on 06/12/2025:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SporTV, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Douglas Powell (7(2) - 0) who hails from Dundee, UK and Fanuco Padua(4 - 2(1)) from Belo Horizonte, Brazil.  Both Powell and Padua weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Emanuel Mota, and the three ringside judges are Fresco Orta, Juan Azevedo and Joaquin Flora.  

Round 1: 

Powell gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook.  Powell holds on to his opponent.  Powell leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Powell pushes his forearm into Padua's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Padua pivots to the side of his opponent.  Powell lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Powell pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Powell lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Padua is looking to keep his distance and hits home with an overhand right.  
Powell drives a stinging right hook into Padua's ribs.  
Padua connects with a cross.  
Powell is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.

Powell advances into close range and throws a left uppercut, but his opponent avoids the punch with a sidestep.  Powell clinches his opponent.  Powell leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Powell pushes his forearm into Padua's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Powell manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Powell pivots to the left of his opponent and hits home with a firm left hook.  
Powell lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  
Powell lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
As Powell tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Padua dabs at his face checking for damage.
