Joey Saam vs Chris Buchannon

Boxing Daily Report from the Smoking Joe promoted show at Civic Auditorium, San Jose,  taking place on 12/01/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Joey Saam (7(4) - 0) who hails from Cleveland, USA and Chris Buchannon(7 - 3 - 1) from Pueblo, USA.  Both Saam and Buchannon weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Noah Denoon, and the three ringside judges are Michael Pride, Sam Dunkin and Alec Deans.  

Round 1: 

Saam advances into close range.  Buchannon throws a left uppercut, but Saam holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Saam pushes his forearm into Buchannon's face.  The referee warns Saam and breaks the clinch.  
Saam lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Saam clinches his opponent.  Saam uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Buchannon's kidney. 
Saam advances into close range and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Buchannon hits home with a right hook.  
Saam gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Saam clinches his opponent.  Saam hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Saam lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Saam lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Saam is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  Saam clinches his opponent.  Saam is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Saam steps inside.  Buchannon throws a left hook, but Saam clinches his opponent.  Saam leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The referee breaks up the clinch and lectures Saam to stop holding.  
Saam steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Saam lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Saam lands two right hook's to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.
