Spencer Govender vs Ellis Coll

Boxing Daily Report from the Kabbendjian Promotions promoted show at Henderson Holmes, Henderson,  taking place on 30/12/2025:

Clearly Kabbendjian Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Spencer Govender (5 - 1) who hails from Pretoria, South Africa and Ellis Coll(1 - 5) from Tucson, USA.  Both Govender and Coll weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dale Cloyd, and the three ringside judges are Chris Cadwallader, Brad Primrose and Alastair Harle.  

Round 1: 

Govender closes the distance and lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  Govender holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Govender pushes his forearm into Coll's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Govender about fouling.  
Govender is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut.

Govender digs in a left hook to Coll's liver.  
Govender manouvers Coll into the corner.  Govender lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Coll.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
