Marcel Gillard vs Davie Ayensu

Boxing Daily Report from the TFI promoted show at Gregor Agbee Gym, Takoradi,  taking place on 23/12/2025:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Marcel Gillard (2 - 0) who hails from Abidjan, Ivory Coast and Davie Ayensu(1 - 4 - 1) from Accra, Ghana.  Both Gillard and Ayensu weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Inigo Adamafio, and the three ringside judges are Zain Karimi, Wayne Bimi and Naeem Adusei.  

Round 1: 

Gillard gets on the inside and digs in a firm right hook to his opponents body.  Gillard attempts to land a right hook, but Ayensu parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Gillard manouvers Ayensu into a corner.  Gillard pivots to the side of his opponent.  Gillard lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  Gillard ties up his opponent.  Gillard is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Gillard about fouling.  
Gillard advances into close range.  Gillard sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Gillard lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  Gillard clinches his opponent.  Gillard throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Gillard leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Gillard's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Gillard sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Gillard tries to land a cross, but Ayensu slips the shot and counters with a cross.

Ayensu throws a right uppercut, but Gillard ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Gillard pushes his forearm into Ayensu's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Gillard to stop fouling.  
Gillard lands a stinging jab.  
Gillard pivots to the left of his opponent and connects with a right uppercut.  
Gillard hits home with a cross.  
Gillard advances into close range.  Gillard sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Ayensu tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Gillard is on target with a cross.  
Gillard is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Gillard quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Gillard lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Gillard steps inside.  Gillard sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.
