Michael Abernethy vs Juan Vicario

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City,  taking place on 31/01/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Americas Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on DAZN, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Michael Abernethy (20(13) - 1(1)) who hails from Jackson, USA and Juan Vicario(16(1) - 4(1)) from Choloma, Honduras.  Abernethy weighed in at 146 pounds and 8 ounces, while Vicario weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Theo Halley, and the three ringside judges are Ian Leaper, Rob Bonaccini and Sid Kellison.
