Eric Owens vs Dan Povey

Boxing Daily Report from the Big Bang Promotions promoted show at Royal Albert Hall, London,  taking place on 23/01/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the British Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Channel 5, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Eric Owens (20(6) - 1) who hails from Edinburgh, UK and Dan Povey(10 - 1) from Blackpool, UK.  Both Owens and Povey weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Justin Dalton, and the three ringside judges are Glynn Reddick, Fraser Carroll and Gordon MacIntyre.  

Round 1: 

Owens is on target with a solid right uppercut.  
Povey closes the distance and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Owens lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a right uppercut to the body.  
Povey attempts to land a left hook, but Owens blocks the shot and counters with a solid right hook.
