Apostol Kovalik vs Borysko Zahorsky

Boxing Daily Report from the Baloyi Promotions promoted show at Lviv Chaplin, Lviv,  taking place on 02/01/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Ukraine-Lviv Oblast Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Apostol Kovalik (4 - 8 - 3) who hails from Lviv, Ukraine and Borysko Zahorsky(11 - 3) from Lviv, Ukraine.  Both Kovalik and Zahorsky weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Volodmiri Demyan, and the three ringside judges are Luka Beschastnykh, Igor Kovalsky and Ioakim Figura.  

Round 1: 

Kovalik closes the distance.  Zahorsky tries to land a left hook, but Kovalik slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Kovalik gets on the inside.  Kovalik quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Kovalik is looking to close the distance.  Zahorsky hits home with a right hook.
