Jun Shimomura vs Shinji Fukuda

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, Tokyo,  taking place on 10/01/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the East Asian Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TV Tokyo, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jun Shimomura (19 - 4 - 1) who hails from Tokyo, Japan and Shinji Fukuda(14 - 2) from Fukuoka, Japan.  Shimomura weighed in at 242 pounds And 15 ounces, while Fukuda weighed in at 236 pounds And 1 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Eiji Mizuno, and the three ringside judges are Takeo Kibe, Keiichi Iida and Hisoka Yamamoto.  

Round 1:
