Boxing Daily Report from the Waris Promotions promoted show at Michael Neal Gym, Huntsville,  taking place on 02/01/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the USA-Alabama Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Phil Clay (4 - 10 - 2) who hails from Birmingham, USA and Daniel Waddle(14 - 0) from Huntsville, USA.  Both Clay and Waddle weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Stephen Glasford, and the three ringside judges are Rex Touch, Mark Hush and David Nist.  

Round 1: 

Waddle is on target with a right hook.  
Waddle is looking to close the distance and hits home with a right hook.  
Clay steps to the outside.  Waddle hits home with a cross.

Waddle gets on the inside.  Waddle lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Waddle dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Waddle lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.

Waddle advances into close range and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Waddle connects with a right uppercut.  Waddle throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.

As Waddle tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Clay.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
