Ovidio Jiminez vs Manuel Amor

Boxing Daily Report from the Rourke & Salvador promoted show at Salta Galiano, Salta,  taking place on 29/12/2025:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Ovidio Jiminez (9(1) - 0) who hails from Rosario, Argentina and Manuel Amor(4 - 1 - 1) from Mar del Plata, Argentina.  Jiminez weighed in at 107 pounds and 14 ounces, while Amor weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Enzo Mancilla, and the three ringside judges are Seferino Matos, Enzo Mancilla and Paco Salinas.  

Round 1: 

Jiminez sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Jiminez lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.

Jiminez walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  Jiminez drives a firm left hook into Amor's ribs.  
Jiminez advances into close range and is on target with a sharp left hook to his opponents body.  Jiminez clinches his opponent.  Jiminez is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Amor sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Amor tries to land a jab, but Jiminez blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Jiminez connects with a left uppercut.  
Jiminez steps inside.  Jiminez lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Jiminez dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Jiminez gets on the inside.  Amor throws a left hook, but Jiminez clinches his opponent.  Amor is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Jiminez lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Jiminez drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  Jiminez holds on to his opponent.  Jiminez pushes his forearm into Amor's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Jiminez to stop fouling.  
Jiminez manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Jiminez sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Amor throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Jiminez holds on to his opponent.  Amor hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref breaks Jiminez's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Amor manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Jiminez lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.

Jiminez throws a right uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Amor steps inside.  Jiminez tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Amor pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Jiminez lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.

The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Jiminez dabs at his face checking for damage.  Jiminez has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.

Jiminez digs in a firm left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Jiminez throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Jiminez advances into close range and drives a left hook into his opponents body.
