Corey Chipeta vs Michael Tekere

Boxing Daily Report from the African Fusion promoted show at Morris Depot Police Camp, Harare,  taking place on 16/01/2026:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the Zimbabwe Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on DStv, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Corey Chipeta (10 - 3) who hails from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and Michael Tekere(15(1) - 3) from Harare, Zimbabwe.  Both Chipeta and Tekere weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Josh Tiripano, and the three ringside judges are Sammy Mukoneweshuro, Ian Mataz and Chris Phiri.
