Paul Daenzer vs Jack Cloyd

Boxing Daily Report from the Ayibonte Promotions promoted show at Fort Wayne Espey, Fort Wayne,  taking place on 09/01/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Great Lakes Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Paul Daenzer (11 - 3 - 1) who hails from Cincinnati, USA and Jack Cloyd(14 - 2 - 1) from Indianapolis, USA.  Both Daenzer and Cloyd weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Paul Lockart, and the three ringside judges are Bryan Maffett, Bob Boswell and Noel Housler.  

Round 1: 

Daenzer is looking to close the distance.  Cloyd quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Daenzer lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Daenzer advances into close range and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Daenzer lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Cloyd sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Cloyd throws a right uppercut, but Daenzer clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Daenzer pushes his forearm into Cloyd's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Daenzer about fouling.
