Ricky Newall vs Jay Costain

Boxing Daily Report from the Hennessy Boxing promoted show at Geelong Baseball Centre, Geelong,  taking place on 31/01/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Asia-Oceania Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Ricky Newall (12 - 2 - 2) who hails from Sydney, Australia and Jay Costain(15(4) - 2 - 2) from Waitakere, New Zealand.  Newall weighed in at 168 pounds, while Costain weighed in at 167 pounds and 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Mark Givan, and the three ringside judges are Brendan Stronach, Alec Saghatelian and Stephen MacDougall.
