Davie Johnston vs Matt MacGibbon

Boxing Daily Report from the Hennessy Boxing promoted show at Geelong Baseball Centre, Geelong,  taking place on 31/01/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Australia Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Davie Johnston (10 - 5 - 2) who hails from Sydney, Australia and Matt MacGibbon(11 - 0 - 1) from Newcastle, Australia.  Both Johnston and MacGibbon weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mark Givan, and the three ringside judges are Alec Saghatelian, Brendan Stronach and Stephen MacDougall.
