Boxing Daily Report from the AI Costa Rica-San Jose promoted show at Gimnasio Gabelo Conejo, San Jose,  taking place on 13/01/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Central American Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Repretel Channel 11, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Iago Villescas (13 - 1 - 1) who hails from San Jose, Costa Rica and Jose Abar(15(2) - 3) from Masaya, Nicaragua.  Both Villescas and Abar weighed in at 160 pounds.
