Steven Vermeulen vs Alen Mbeki

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Zimbabwe-Bulawayo promoted show at Bulawayo Madziva, Bulawayo,  taking place on 14/01/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Southern African Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Joy TV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Steven Vermeulen (13 - 3(1)) who hails from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and Alen Mbeki(7 - 8 - 5) from Soshanguve, South Africa.  Both Vermeulen and Mbeki weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Joey Mumbengegwi, and the three ringside judges are Paul Dumbutshena, Jacob Chindungwe and Arran Zvirekwi.  

Round 1:
