Santiago Guitron vs Jax Velarde

Boxing Daily Report from the Vilakazi Promotions promoted show at Alejandro Garcia Gym, Puente Alto,  taking place on 16/01/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Chile-Santiago Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Santiago Guitron (9 - 7) who hails from Maipu, Chile and Jax Velarde(8 - 8 - 1) from Las Condes, Chile.  Guitron weighed in at 117 pounds and 15 ounces, while Velarde weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Salvador Olivo, and the three ringside judges are Hilario Britto, Kiki Vigorito and Fresco Collazo.  

Round 1: 

Velarde pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.  
Velarde gets on the inside.  Guitron lands a left hook.  Guitron tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.
