Boxing Daily Report from the Rattlesnake Promotions promoted show at County Coliseum, El Paso,  taking place on 23/01/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Brett Steel (13(4) - 2 - 2) who hails from Santa Clarita, USA and Ahasver Melin(12 - 8 - 1 - 1(NC)) from Prague, Czech Republic.  Steel weighed in at 115 pounds, while Melin weighed in at 114 pounds and 11 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Robert Corfield, and the three ringside judges are Paul Mings, Sean Richards and Corey Barnes.  

Round 1: 

Steel is on target with a jab.  
Steel steps inside.  Melin throws a left hook, but Steel holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Steel pushes his forearm into Melin's face.  The referee warns Steel and breaks the clinch.

Steel steps to the outside.  Steel stands off with low guard waiting for his opponent to launch an attack.  Melin tries to land an overhand right, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Steel is looking to close the distance and is on target with a left hook.  Steel clinches his opponent.  Steel leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Melin tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Steel behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

He waves off the fight!  The winner by TKO is Steel!
