Denton Messer vs William Ard

Boxing Daily Report from the Showtime Promotions promoted show at Buffalo State Ice Arena, Buffalo,  taking place on 17/01/2026:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fox Sports, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Denton Messer (12 - 0) who hails from Houston, USA and William Ard(2 - 2 - 4) from Chicago, USA.  Messer weighed in at 226 pounds and 7 ounces, while Ard weighed in at 225 pounds and 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is David Fidler, and the three ringside judges are Sam Callacghan, Patrick Moffitt and Darryl Shand.

As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Messer dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Ard quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Ard is clearly losing his cool here!   He steps inside, but then strikes Messer with a blatant low blow!  The ref tells Ard to keep his punches above the belt.  He gives Messer time to recover.  
Ard closes the distance.  Messer digs in a right hook to his opponents body.
