Eiji Kubo vs Aoi Ueno

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Japan-Hyogo promoted show at Hikaru Anno Gym, Akashi,  taking place on 23/01/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Hyogo Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Eiji Kubo (10 - 7 - 1) who hails from Kobe, Japan and Aoi Ueno(6 - 10 - 3) from Kobe, Japan.  Both Kubo and Ueno weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Iwao Sumida, and the three ringside judges are Hisoka Iida, Daiki Ose and Yutaka Enomoto.  

Round 1: 

Kubo lands a jab.

Kubo steps to the outside and finds the target with a jab.  
Ueno walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Ueno pivots to the right of his opponent and hits home with a right uppercut.  
Ueno drives a left hook into Kubo's body.  
Kubo switches the action to the outside and is on target with an overhand right.  
Ueno feints a jab, tricking Kubo into throwing a right uppercut counter.  Ueno springs the trap and counters with  a cross.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Kubo's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Ueno's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.
