James Baxter vs David Meinders

Boxing Daily Report from the Bareebe Promotions promoted show at Wichita Hogge, Wichita,  taking place on 03/02/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the USA-Mid West Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are James Baxter (10 - 3 - 1) who hails from Overland Park, USA and David Meinders(7 - 5 - 1) from St. Louis, USA.  Baxter weighed in at 160 pounds, while Meinders weighed in at 159 pounds and 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Chris Nisbett, and the three ringside judges are Ricky Catherwood, Phil Maffett and Ricky Valle.  

Round 1: 

Baxter steps inside.  Baxter pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook.  
Baxter closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Baxter lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Baxter gets on the inside and manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Baxter sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.

Baxter is looking to close the distance.  Baxter retreats back to the ropes, and waits for his opponent to attack.  Meinders tries to tag Baxter on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  
Baxter wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Meinders has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Baxter connects with a cross.

Meinders is desperate to make more of an impact on his opponent.   He turns Baxter and throws an uppercut into his opponents groin area!  The ref tells Meinders to keep his punches above the belt.  He gives Baxter time to recover.

Baxter is on target with a right hook.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Baxter dabs at his face checking for damage.

You can sense Meinders is getting frustrated in there.   He steps in close and swings a low uppercut into Baxter's groin!  The ref halts the action and sends Baxter to the neutral corner.    He tells Meinders to stop fouling or face a points deduction.

Baxter switches the action to the outside and lands a jab to the head followed by a cross to the body.
