Malik Kosaeff vs Alik Cazackpaev

Boxing Daily Report from the GGG Imperat promoted show at Almaty Abutalipov, Almaty,  taking place on 24/01/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Kazakhstan-Almaty Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Malik Kosaeff (11 - 6(2) - 2) who hails from Almaty, Kazakhstan and Alik Cazackpaev(3 - 5 - 1) from Almaty, Kazakhstan.  Both Kosaeff and Cazackpaev weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Musa Kadyrgaliew, and the three ringside judges are Kashif Abyckassym, Ahmed Casymbecow and Malik Iskakoff.  

Round 1: 

Cazackpaev advances into close range.  Kosaeff is on target with a right hook.

Kosaeff drives a right uppercut into Cazackpaev's ribs.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Cazackpaev dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Kosaeff strikes his opponents body with a cross.  
Cazackpaev forces Kosaeff to retreat into the corner.  Kosaeff lands a right hook.

Cazackpaev gets on the inside.  Cazackpaev wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Kosaeff has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
