Dave Saina vs Leo Shikuku

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Kenya-Kiambu promoted show at Kikuyu Gachu, Kikuyu,  taking place on 24/01/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Kenya-Kiambu Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Dave Saina (6 - 5 - 5) who hails from Ruiru, Kenya and Leo Shikuku(7 - 1 - 1) from Ruiru, Kenya.  Both Saina and Shikuku weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ian Nanji, and the three ringside judges are Azam Taheri, Mark Kamande and Haider Ben.  

Round 1: 

Shikuku pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut.  
Shikuku lands a right uppercut.  
Saina connects with a right uppercut.  
Saina attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Shikuku's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Saina gets on the inside.  Shikuku pivots to the left of his opponent and lands two right hooks followed by a left hook to his opponents head.
