Daniel Quirk vs Lee Boyle

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Ireland-Leinster promoted show at Dublin Leishman, Dublin,  taking place on 23/01/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Irish-Leinster Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Daniel Quirk (4 - 11 - 3) who hails from Dublin, Ireland and Lee Boyle(11 - 5) from Dublin, Ireland.  Both Quirk and Boyle weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Floyd Hobbs, and the three ringside judges are Brett Rabbitt, Shamus Quirke and Joshua McColl.  

Round 1: 

Boyle gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Boyle manages to force Quirk into a corner.  Boyle feints a cross, and then lands a left hook to the body, a cross to the head and a jab to the head.  
Boyle closes the distance and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Quirk is looking to keep his distance and lands a cross.  
Boyle gets on the inside.  Boyle quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Boyle pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a jab.  
Boyle lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Boyle advances into close range and connects with a left uppercut.  
Boyle advances into close range and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.

Boyle closes the distance.  Boyle voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Quirk tries to tag Boyle on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  
Boyle closes the distance and lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Quirk's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Quirk's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Quirk's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
