Vicente Miers vs Sierra Marcelo

Boxing Daily Report from the Bawuah Promotions promoted show at Chipancingo Artiles, Chipancingo,  taking place on 26/01/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Mexico-Guerrero Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Vicente Miers (13 - 1) who hails from Acapulco, Mexico and Sierra Marcelo(9 - 11 - 1) from Acapulco, Mexico.  Both Miers and Marcelo weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Joaquin Gracia, and the three ringside judges are Joaquin Bedoya, Jerrold Santibanez and Agapetus Villagran.  

Round 1: 

Marcelo closes the distance.  Miers lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Miers sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Miers throws a right hook, but his opponent avoids the punch.  Miers ties up his opponent.  Miers throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Miers.  
Miers digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  Miers holds on to his opponent.  Miers leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Miers manouvers his opponent into the blue corner.  Miers digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Miers digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  Miers clinches his opponent.  Marcelo tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Miers's kidney. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Marcelo about fouling.  Miers throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Marcelo throws a left uppercut, but Miers clinches his opponent.  Marcelo is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Miers advances into close range and is on target with a left uppercut to Marcelo's ribs.
