Ricky Hood vs Daniel Pye

Boxing Daily Report from the AI New Zealand-Wellington promoted show at Rengotai Arena, Wellington,  taking place on 27/01/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the New Zealand Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Prime, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Ricky Hood (7 - 3(2) - 6) who hails from Wellington, New Zealand and Daniel Pye(12 - 3(1)) from Manukau, New Zealand.  Both Hood and Pye weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Oraora Pareraukawa, and the three ringside judges are Alen Ritchey, Sean Stackpole and Mel Binner.
