Paul Kiriwi vs Peter Burnet

Boxing Daily Report from the AI New Zealand-Canterbury promoted show at Ian Salmond Gym, Christchurch,  taking place on 27/01/2026:

Clearly AI New Zealand-Canterbury have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand-Canterbury Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Paul Kiriwi (4 - 3 - 2) who hails from Christchurch, New Zealand and Peter Burnet(6 - 2(1) - 4) from Christchurch, New Zealand.  Both Kiriwi and Burnet weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Noel Haxton, and the three ringside judges are Ikei Kahu, Paul Moad and Gareth Young.
