Tariq Taheri vs James Akwashiki

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Nigeria-Kaduna State promoted show at Kaduna Niger, Kaduna,  taking place on 25/01/2026:

Clearly AI Nigeria-Kaduna State have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Nigeria-Kaduna State Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Tariq Taheri (14 - 3 - 1) who hails from Kaduna, Nigeria and James Akwashiki(7 - 0) from Kaduna, Nigeria.  Both Taheri and Akwashiki weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Sanya, and the three ringside judges are Antwan Okonkwo, Elderson Tutuola and Saad Baksh.
