Chris Laird vs Brin Korohunga

Boxing Daily Report from the AI New Zealand-Auckland promoted show at Auckland Griffin, Auckland,  taking place on 28/01/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Prime, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Chris Laird (7 - 5 - 5 - 1(NC)) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and Brin Korohunga(14 - 3 - 1) from Manukau, New Zealand.  Both Laird and Korohunga weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Kenzie Anderson, and the three ringside judges are George Brain, Hani Rarere and Glynn Telford.  

Round 1: 

Korohunga gets on the inside and lands a right uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.
