Sylvain Belgard vs Dave Okpako

Boxing Daily Report from the TFI promoted show at Kumasi Jatoi, Kumasi,  taking place on 28/01/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Sylvain Belgard (3 - 0) who hails from Bouake, Ivory Coast and Dave Okpako(2 - 1 - 4) from Port Harcourt, Nigeria.  Both Belgard and Okpako weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Brad Kyei, and the three ringside judges are Amon Amartey, Bob Antwi and Rob Yeboah.  

Round 1:

Belgard lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Belgard ties up his opponent.  Belgard throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Belgard walks Okpako down, trapping him on the ropes.  Belgard connects with a right hook.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Okpako dabs at his face checking for damage.
