Dario Gabat vs Carlos Asuncion

Boxing Daily Report from the Maghakian Promotions promoted show at Manny Portilla Gym, Cebu City,  taking place on 29/01/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Philippines-Cebu Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Dario Gabat (9 - 2) who hails from Mandaue, Philippines and Carlos Asuncion(14 - 4) from Lapu-Lapu, Philippines.  Gabat weighed in at 159 pounds and 11 ounces, while Asuncion weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Cris Merida, and the three ringside judges are Malvolio Monterrosa, Porfio Larez and Fanuco Mejias.  

Round 1: 

Gabat circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Asuncion attempts to land a cross, but Gabat sidesteps and counters with a stinging right hook.
