Will Ballon vs Dave Lamond

Boxing Daily Report from the Spinger Boxing Club promoted show at San Antonio Abella, San Antonio,  taking place on 02/01/2026:

Clearly Spinger Boxing Club have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Texas Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Will Ballon (9 - 3 - 5) who hails from Houston, USA and Dave Lamond(17 - 3 - 2) from San Antonio, USA.  Both Ballon and Lamond weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Paul Speed, and the three ringside judges are Brett Sproule, Harry Burwick and Bryan Priddy.  

Round 1: 

Ballon is looking to close the distance and walks Lamond onto the ropes.  Lamond hits home with a left hook.  
Ballon throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Ballon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Ballon attempts to land a right uppercut, but Lamond sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Lamond switches the action to the outside.  Ballon finds the target with a jab.  
Lamond manouvers Ballon into a corner.  Lamond pivots from in front of his opponent.  Ballon attempts to land a cross, but Lamond slips the shot and counters with a left hook.

At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Ballon's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Lamond's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.
