Hjalmar Molen vs Staffan Mellgren

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Sweden-Skane promoted show at Malmo Younggren, Malmo,  taking place on 31/01/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Sweden-Skane Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Hjalmar Molen (9 - 6 - 1) who hails from Malmo, Sweden and Staffan Mellgren(4 - 11 - 2) from Malmo, Sweden.  Molen weighed in at 126 pounds, while Mellgren weighed in at 125 pounds and 5 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Per Carlberg, and the three ringside judges are Kevin Angerman, Joel Palm and Kevin Angerman.  

Round 1: 

Molen hits home with a cross.  
Mellgren attempts to land a cross, but Molen parries the shot and counters with a cross.

Mellgren gets on the inside and walks his opponent into the corner.  As Mellgren tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Molen dabs at his face checking for damage.
