Venacio Costilla vs Diego Barrero

Boxing Daily Report from the Rourke & Salvador promoted show at Crown Plaza, Asuncion,  taking place on 01/02/2026:

Clearly Rourke & Salvador have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Venacio Costilla (5(1) - 1) who hails from Ciudad del Este, Paraguay and Diego Barrero(2 - 1 - 1) from Ciudad del Este, Paraguay.  Costilla weighed in at 115 pounds, while Barrero weighed in at 114 pounds And 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Loredo Galban, and the three ringside judges are Guillermo Rolando, Ivan Chino and Guillermo Rolando.

Costilla forces Barrero to back into the ropes.  Costilla lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Barrero recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Costilla lands a cross to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  He then lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body, AND DROPS BARRERO TO THE CANVAS!  He remains on the canvas as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Costilla!
