Jack Sanders vs John Monce

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Australia-Victoria promoted show at Dom Kennedy Gym, Melbourne,  taking place on 08/02/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Australia-Victoria Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Jack Sanders (11 - 4 - 1) who hails from Geelong, Australia and John Monce(5 - 7 - 2) from Melbourne, Australia.  Both Sanders and Monce weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hugh Collins, and the three ringside judges are Bruce Munhall, Malcolm Hanken and Ricky Gebbie.  

Round 1: 

Sanders lands a jab.  
Monce gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook.  
Monce quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Monce gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook to Sanders's ribs.  
Monce pivots to the right of his opponent.  Sanders hits home with a right uppercut.  Monce wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Sanders has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Monce walks Sanders into the red corner.  Monce connects with a cross.  
Monce throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Sanders hits home with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Sanders's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.

Sanders drives a right uppercut into his opponents body.

Sanders steps to the outside.  Monce connects with a cross.  
Monce quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with a left hook.  
Sanders is on target with a right hook.  
Sanders backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Monce steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  Monce drives a right uppercut into Sanders's body.  
Sanders switches the action to the outside.  Monce quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with an overhand left.  
Sanders is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Monce is on target with a cross.  
Monce sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Sanders connects with a cross.
