Peter Boswell vs Mike Bell

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Sunshine Coast Stadium, Sunshine Coast,  taking place on 21/02/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Australia Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Peter Boswell (11 - 8(1) - 1) who hails from Melbourne, Australia and Mike Bell(14 - 7 - 2) from Canberra, Australia.  Both Boswell and Bell weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dave Evan, and the three ringside judges are Mark Lockie, Steven Candreva and Francesco Ghiglia.  

Round 1: 

Boswell steps to the outside.  Bell lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Boswell sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.  
Bell hits home with a right hook.  Boswell holds on to his opponent.  Bell uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Boswell's kidney. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Bell is looking to close the distance and connects with a right uppercut.  Boswell clinches his opponent.  Bell leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Boswell's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Boswell's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.
