Leon Owen vs Paul Saunders

Boxing Daily Report from the Ace Boxing promoted show at Ace Gym, Nashville,  taking place on 31/01/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Leon Owen (5 - 0) who hails from Nashville, USA and Paul Saunders(6 - 4 - 1) from Toronto, Canada.  Owen weighed in at 146 pounds and 7 ounces, while Saunders weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is John Cranston, and the three ringside judges are Billy Dey, Leighton Parry and Kris Breck.  

Round 1: 

Owen is looking to close the distance and drives a right hook into his opponents body.

Owen lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Owen ties up his opponent.  Owen throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Owen.

Owen lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Owen ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Owen pushes his forearm into Saunders's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Owen about fouling.
