Ignado Berrones vs Angel Islas

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Costa Rica-San Jose promoted show at Neper Calvo Gym, San Jose,  taking place on 17/01/2026:

Clearly AI Costa Rica-San Jose have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Costa Rica-San Jose Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Repretel Channel 11, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ignado Berrones (6 - 2 - 1) who hails from San Jose, Costa Rica and Angel Islas(9 - 5) from San Jose, Costa Rica.  Berrones weighed in at 111 pounds and 12 ounces, while Islas weighed in at 111 pounds and 11 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Hernan Lovato, and the three ringside judges are Onofre Marrufo, Esteban Macario and Reynaldo Lujano.
