Montel Lantigua vs Chris Fate

Boxing Daily Report from the Showtime Promotions promoted show at New Daisy Theater, Memphis,  taking place on 20/02/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Montel Lantigua (16(1) - 2(1) - 1) who hails from Bayamon, Puerto Rico and Chris Fate(14 - 4 - 2) from Charlotte, USA.  Both Lantigua and Fate weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Clint Blagg, and the three ringside judges are John Cranston, Dan Stevenson and Dan Stevenson.  

Round 1: 

Fate lands an overhand right.  
Lantigua quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Fate throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Lantigua time to recover.
