Waqas Emara vs Majid Abdel-Shafy

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Egypt-Alexandria promoted show at Alexandria Bhutto, Alexandria,  taking place on 16/02/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Egypt Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Modern Sport, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Waqas Emara (9 - 2) who hails from Cairo, Egypt and Majid Abdel-Shafy(9 - 4(1) - 1) from Alexandria, Egypt.  Both Emara and Abdel-Shafy weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Faisal Algahary, and the three ringside judges are Jawad Arafat, Kamran Nasri and Zuffur Haq.
