Richard Birrell vs Bronco Bosque

Boxing Daily Report from the TFI promoted show at Chinese Benevolent Association auditorium, Kingston,  taking place on 20/02/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Richard Birrell (6 - 0) who hails from Spanish Town, Jamaica and Bronco Bosque(2 - 4 - 3) from Holguin, Cuba.  Both Birrell and Bosque weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Davie Taylor, and the three ringside judges are Rob Nivison, Oliver Hedley and Mark Spotswood.  

Round 1: 

Birrell is on target with a firm overhand right.  
Birrell feints a right hook, and then is on target with a jab.  
Bosque gets on the inside.  Birrell digs in a right hook to Bosque's ribcage.

Bosque steps inside.  Birrell wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Bosque dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Birrell steps to the outside and lands a hard jab.  
Birrell tries to step out of his opponents range and is on target with a jab.  
Birrell switches the action to the outside and lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Birrell is on target with an overhand right.  
Bosque is looking to close the distance.  Birrell lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  Birrell clinches his opponent.  Birrell throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Birrell about fouling.
