Yoshi Obara vs Iwao Minamoto

Boxing Daily Report from the Panyin Promotions promoted show at Yoshi Uyemura Gym, Fukuoka,  taking place on 20/02/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Fukuoka Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Yoshi Obara (6 - 9 - 2) who hails from Kurume, Japan and Iwao Minamoto(9 - 6 - 2) from Kitakyushu, Japan.  Obara weighed in at 146 pounds and 9 ounces, while Minamoto weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Daichi Okabe, and the three ringside judges are Kaede Kuba, Ryuu Komatsu and Mikio Iwasaki.  

Round 1: 

Minamoto backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Obara tries to tag Minamoto on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!
