Saad Gerges vs Aftab Taheri

Boxing Daily Report from the Mayat Promotions promoted show at Jeddah Alkindi, Jeddah,  taking place on 31/01/2026:

Clearly Mayat Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Saudi Arabia-West Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Saad Gerges (11 - 2 - 3) who hails from Mecca, Saudi Arabia and Aftab Taheri(14 - 4 - 4) from Mecca, Saudi Arabia.  Both Gerges and Taheri weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Adnan Qubaisi, and the three ringside judges are Khalid Kazmi, Danyaal Negein and Atif Basri.
