Sam Bekker vs Tefu Zokwana

Boxing Daily Report from the AI South Africa-Gauteng promoted show at Randburg Du Toit, Randburg,  taking place on 31/01/2026:

Clearly AI South Africa-Gauteng have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the South Africa-Gauteng Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Sam Bekker (4 - 15 - 1) who hails from Tembisa, South Africa and Tefu Zokwana(12 - 9) from Pretoria, South Africa.  Both Bekker and Zokwana weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Johnny Kamalebo, and the three ringside judges are Tlou Nqakula, Kyan Majola and Cole Twala.  

Round 1: 

Bekker gets on the inside and cuts off the ring, trapping Zokwana in the red corner.  Zokwana is on target with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Zokwana tries to land a left hook, but Bekker parries the shot and counters with a left hook.

Zokwana is looking to close the distance and walks his opponent down, trapping him in the blue corner.  Zokwana pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.
